Aaron’s upcoming mushroom walks are below!
Befriending Fungi Walk with Aaron – Saturday, March 2nd at 10a, Pasadena, CA
Children’s Mushroom Walk with Children’s Forest School, Monday, March 4th at 12p, Pasadena, CA
Doğa Tekin + Olga Tzogas on Cultivating Community
Tuesday, February 27th, 7pm @ Arlington Garden, Pasadena, CA
Sponsored by Arlington Garden
Join organizers from the Mycelium Underground collective which organizes the New Moon Mycology Summit and beyond.
The New Moon Mycology Summit was created in response to a need and passion for alternative spaces within mycology—diverse spaces for sharing knowledge and community that center the interconnectedness between fungi and ecological + social justice. From mycoremediation to decolonization, interspecies art to alternative economies, racial justice to environmental activism, our events connect diverse perspectives, experiences, and topics to help us envision and create new futures together.
Doğa and Olga will share their journey of organizing these events including the love stories and the challenges, and open it up to a Q+A and discussion about what we want to collectively see and grow in myco-spaces.
Check out Eventbrite to learn more about our special guest speakers!
Alison Pouliot’s Meetings with Remarkable Mushrooms
Monday, March 11th, 7pm @ Arlington Garden, Pasadena, CA – Free
Sponsored by Arlington Garden
From one of the photographers of Merlin Sheldrake (author of Entangled Life) and Björk's new IMAX film Fungi: Web of Life, the well-known photographer Alison Pouliot with over 20 years of experience in the field, recently published a new book this last September about her personal fungal journey traveling across the world reflecting on “how appreciating fungi is key to understanding our planet’s power and fragility.”
It is a very fitting read for the Mycoverse as we explore deeper how to cultivate awareness, appreciation, and connection with the more-than-human world of fungi.
Before our discussion, we invite you to:
Read the first half of the book, Chapters 1 through 6, pages 1-132. We will be reading the second half of the book for our April discussion, April 15th.
